A Glimpse of some of the activities of our centre
In WCMH we try to have as many activities, functions, celebrations as possible where the Warders are encouraged to participate. These activities keeps them happy and it helps in their overall development
Every year Annual Sports Day is observed in our own open space. Warders are provided with special “T” shirts. Even the most severe cases also participate and enjoy themselves
Every Warders Birthday is Celebrated with Cake-Cutting and Feast

Saraswati Puja Celebration
Annual Foundation Day Celebration – An Annual event held on the first Sunday of Each New Year. The Warders perform Dance, Songs, Poetry Recitation, Physical Fitness Exercises, Group Activities, etc. They are trained by special trainers. The Guardians and Family Members of every Warder are present. Many Guests grace the occasion also. A whole days program culminates with lunch for all.

Guardians Day – Every Month Compulsorily the Guardians are required to come and meet their Ward and interact with the Trainers and Teachers. Lunch is enjoyed in a big family like atmosphere. A very happy day for all – The Warders, Guardians and all Care Givers of our Centre.
We are also running a Day Care Unit for families who live within the vicinity. The ANANDALOK Day Care Centre for intellectually challenged Children is having arrangements for providing education and skilled training to 15 day scholars besides 30 hostellers. Emphasis is being given on the vocational training after assessing the capability of the trainees. This service, we feel is of value to families, who have children at home who, due to unavailability of services are developing bad habits and are becoming dependent on others. Our goal is to try to fit them back into the mainstream of the society. In addition the Day Care Unit is to some extent is serving as Crèche to the working Parents.
OUR OTHER ACTIVITIES
- ☀ Identification of Intellectually Challenged with the help of professional people.
- ☀ Helping them in appearing before Medical Board as designated by local administration.
- ☀ Helping them to get Disability certificates from the office of the District Magistrate.
- ☀ Helping in the process of awarding Guardianship for the disabled persons.
- ☀ Conducting workshop on awareness programme.
- ☀ Networking with other various organisations dealing with the handicapped persons.
